Alleged Burlco Gang Members Indicted for Murder

Willingboro was ground zero in 2008 for a gang rivalry between the Muslims Over Everything and Bloods, authorities say.

An outbreak of street gang violence led to two murders in 2008, and two Burlington County men were indicted this week on charges they killed their rivals.

A grand jury indicted Terrek Parker, 27, and Eric D. Williams, 29, both of Willingboro, on a slew of charges, including two counts of first-degree murder.

The case against the pair stems from retaliatory gang violence in 2008. Parker and Williams were both high-ranking Muslims Over Everything gang members, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi, while the victims were Bloods.

Parker and Williams are accused fatally shooting 23-year-old Darryl Sample as he walked on a Willingboro road on Sept. 20, 2008.

Then two days later, the man who allegedly drove the getaway car in Sample’s murder—Tarik J. Mackins, 32, of Trenton—shot another victim while he was sitting in his car in Willingboro. Deion Madison, 28, was stuck five times and died four days later.

The Burlington County prosecutor accuses Parker and Williams of planning Madison’s murder. The pair waited nearby and drove Mackins away from the scene, authorities say.

Parker and Williams also are accused of trying to kill another Bloods member the day before Sample was killed.

Parker, of Babcock Lane in Willingboro, and Williams (also known as Eric Bryant), of Midvale Lane in Willingboro, were indicted on:

  • Two counts of first-degree murder
  • Conspiracy to commit murder, first degree
  • Criminal attempt murder, first degree
  • Gang criminality, first degree
  • Possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, second degree

They’re expected to be arraigned shortly on the charges.

Mackins previously pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated manslaughter. He hasn’t been sentenced yet, but must serve 17 years in state prison under a plea agreement reached.
