It says "In addition to the cash, the men took two cases and some loose packs of cigarettes. The value of the cigarettes was unknown" The cheapest cigarettes in NJ are $46.55 per carton and there are 12 cartons in a case. That makes it $65 + a minimum of $1117.20 if the story is accurate. The important sentence; the clerk was uninjured. Unfortunately that is inaccurate. A person, another soul was restrained at gunpoint. Money and cigarettes; who cares. Trust and security for that individual; gone. The clerk was injured.

I'm surprised there was only one clerk - I thought all convenience stores made sure there are at least 2 people working any shift. Very sad and terrifying for the clerk, I'm sure.

Maybe they should change their hours of operation to 7 - 11.
