The police are usually good about patrolling around. This is getting nuts! What other measures can we do as far as preventing this happening in our neighborhoods? Are people really getting this desperate during these bad recession times?

Our Moorestown police need to be doing a better job. Not one of these jobs has been solved.

So what do you suggest reped ? Bring back the dispatchers? Do you want the liquor $ to pay for that and the infrastucture? Give a suggestion rather than a complaint. Write a letter to the editior. Better yet air it out at a town council meeting.

There has been no real leadership nor Moorestown Township wide communications from our police department or our Town Council on how the Moorestown Township Administration plans to attack this pernicious and violent problem of these burglaries. Why is it that there is no real leadership driving a campaign to educate residents and bring together a taskforce to really deal with these robberies. Families now have been home with thieves kicking in back doors with mothers, fathers, and children in their homes. Where is the police leadership? Where are the investigations? Where is Town Council's leadership?

First off, if you don't like how the police work is taken care of, then why don't you just move out and stop complaining? Secondly, I truly believe that moorestown police does a great job in patrols and what not. I constantly see them driving around and makes me not want to speed at all in the town cuz I know that they are somewhere. It's a fact that a break-in will happen, it is the matter of the home owner to be the first line of defense. Get a security system and lock everything. It is very unfortunate for this to happen to a couple of hard working Americans, but these things do happen no matter how many police are on the street. And as far as I recall, you call the police to report a break in, not town council. What are they honestly gonna do, place an ordinance on not breaking into other peoples houses? Let the police do their investigations and feel blessed that they even do it. If you want a neighborhood watch, then put one together, take some responsibility for yourself. So basically, the police leadership is doing the investigations which town council pays them to do. Not everything is handed out to everyone, do it yourself. You act like your living in camden or something, man up.

If you don't like what is going on then get involved and get informed. Moorestown is going to be a target because of the wealth in this town so homeowners need to be pro-active. In other words, quit yer bellyachin'!

Interesting the "republican" guy is always complaining about things in town . Seemingly goes off on town councilmembers and now blames the police ? Huh? Show some sensitivity pal, our neighbors are getting burglarized. Perhaps we all new to be more vigilant in the happenings in our neighborhoods. Start talking with each other, send text messages , emails, to keep all informed and on alert.

As a widow and older senior I am afraid of living in Moorestown with all these robberies and break ins. Where are the police to stop this crime wave? I read reports daily about criminals breaking into homes, now two on one street, and nothing seems to be happening. We don't hear from the police about this increase of Moorestown crime. No phone calls. Are there to many break ins to report? So, as an elderly women I can't imagine what would happen if someone broke into my home. From the reports I have read the criminals are cutting phone lines, cable lines and such. Why isn't Mayor Button talking about this. I never hear anything from him.

Ok "Helen" ahh "republican" ahh "edy" ?? Where are those "library ladies". I'm guessing all the same . Any more thoughts?
that guy January 23, 2012 at 10:33 pm
These are burglaries, not robberies. They don't cut phone lines, cuz their whole purpose of to be there when ur not.
Frank January 24, 2012 at 02:14 am
Helen is correct in reporting that phone and cable lines are being cut in these burglaries. Mtown Talker, or shall we say, Mayor John Button knows this to be true, right Mayor?
Mtown Talker January 24, 2012 at 02:41 am
Now, wait a minute. "that guy" and "Helen" talked about phone and cable lines
Chris Welch January 24, 2012 at 01:23 pm
Why would a burglar cut a cable TV Line ?
BTW, no lines were cut. I live across the street from the 2nd house broken into. Stop spreading stupid lies.
Chris Welch January 24, 2012 at 01:31 pm
Don't know why I bother responding to RR/ Helen/ Frank, since I'd take bets it's the same goof.
Police (5 or 6) were out as soon as it was reported. Talking to neighbors, gathering info, letting people know what happened. An email (notifying people what happened) was sent out (within hours) to anyone that is registered on the township system.
