A U.S. Airman living in Burlington County has been charged with possessing child pornography on his computer and making it available online for others to download, Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Pemberton Township Police Chief David Jantas announced Friday afternoon.

Matthew A. Cavada, 29 of Pemberton, was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of children.

Cavada, a U.S. Air Force Tech Sergeant stationed at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, allegedly used a file sharing service to make child pornography videos from his computer available to others to download.

Many of the videos were extremely graphic in nature and portrayed pre-pubescent girls engaging in sexual acts with adult males.

Cavada was arrested at his home on Thursday following the execution of a search warrant to collect evidence.

He was lodged in Burlington County Jail on $125,000 bail.

The investigation was conducted by special agents from the Air Force Office of Special Investigations Detachment 307 from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, and detectives from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit, the Pemberton Township Police Department, and the Westampton Township Police Department. The BCPO High Tech Crimes Unit is a member of the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
