Prostitution Crackdown Continues in Mount Laurel
Also, police say several people assaulted an individual following a party on Oakhurst Lane.
Dec. 31
Criminal mischief — Police said the quarter panel of a vehicle parked on the 2000 block of Stokes Road was damaged sometime between 9 a.m. Dec. 20, 2012, and 9 a.m. Dec. 31, 2012. Damage is estimated at $400.
Jan. 25
Forgery, 7:30 p.m. — Someone used $200 in counterfeit money to pay for $44 worth of merchandise at Wegmans, police said.
Feb. 1
Theft from vehicle — Someone stole credit cards, valued at approximately $5, from an unlocked vehicle on the 4400 block of Church Road, police said. The theft occurred sometime between 10 p.m. Jan. 31 and 7 a.m. Feb. 1.
Theft, 5-5:45 p.m. — Someone swiped an iPad, valued at approximately $800, from a shopping cart at Wegmans while the victim was shopping, according to police.
Feb. 2
Theft from vehicle, 6:20-8 p.m. — A thief smashed the windows of two vehicles parked at 1 Hovtech Boulevard and stole two purses and their contents, valued at approximately $440, according to police. Damage to both vehicles is estimated at $700.
Assault, 9:30 p.m. — Several people assaulted a Yarmouth Lane resident following a party on the unit block of Oakhurst Lane, according to police.
Feb. 3
Burglary — Approximately $1,000 worth of copper and electrical wiring was stolen from a storage unit on the 200 block of Creek Road, police said. The theft occurred between 3 p.m. Feb. 2 and 7:45 a.m. Feb. 3. No force was used to gain entry.
Feb. 4
Arrest (DWI), 12:18 a.m. — Police arrested Ravi K. Evani, 36, of the 1300 block of Larchmont Place, after he was stopped on Union Mill Road, according to a report. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.
Arrest (prostitution), 10:47 a.m. — Police arrested Veronika F. Reyes, 25, of the 900 block of Colorado Avenue, Modesto, CA, after she solicited an undercover officer for sex at a hotel on the 100 block of Diemer Drive, according to a report. Reyes was charged with engaging in prostitution and committed to the Burlington County Minimum Security Facility in lieu of $7,500 bail.
Arrest (possession of drug paraphernalia), 4:15 p.m. — Police arrested Matthew Frederick, 26, of the 1900 block of Park Avenue, Oakford, PA, following a motor vehicle stop on Route 73, according to a report. Frederick was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released pending a municipal court hearing.
Shoplifting, 5:49 p.m. — Two men stole more than $1,500 worth of plumbing supplies from Home Depot on Nixon Drive, according to police. The suspects were seen leaving the store in a black SUV with an unknown Arizona registration. Feb. 5
Arrest (forgery) — Police arrested Amanda Hafer, 28, of Ballinger Way, Mount Laurel, after she presented a stolen check at Columbia Bank on Ramblewood Parkway on Jan. 17, according to a report. Hafer was released pending a court hearing.
