Deja Vu? Groundhog Day? Camden Man Collared for Second Time in a Week for Copper Theft

A man arrested last week for reportedly stealing copper downspouts from Grace Church arrested again Tuesday in Haddonfield with more scrap metal they allegedly stole.

Kind of makes you wonder.

Haddonfield police today announced the arrest of a Camden man Tuesday who was arrested last week for reportedly stealing copper from Grace Church:

On October 16th, shortly after 9 a.m., Haddonfield Police received a report of two suspicious males in the area of the 200 block of Washington Avenue.  Patrols responded and obtained a description from a local resident of the suspects. One male was found walking in the area.  A neighbor in the 200 block of SW Atlantic Avenue then reported observing an individual hiding in her backyard.  Units responded and found the second individual and he was arrested without incident.  Three copper downspouts were found crushed in canvas bags in a rear yard of the 200 block of Washington Avenue.

Michael Dolan of Audubon Park was charged with two counts of Conspiracy and housed in the Camden County Correctional Facility on unrelated charges.  Patrick Duross-Malloy was charged with two counts of theft and two counts of conspiracy and housed in the Camden County Correctional Facility on $15,000.00 full cash bail.

This is exactly what we need our residents to do, immediately report suspicious people and activities to the police. There can be no second guessing or delay before calling, or the crooks will get away. Let the police figure it out. This is what we are being asked to do by our police force because they cannot be all of the places we all are, all at once. For more information on how we can all help to make a positive impact on reducing our crime rate, please attend the Civic Association's Town Forum next month at Borough Hall where the feasibility of bringing back a citizen Town Watch will be discussed. This will only happen if there is strong resident support. This is a cooperative initiative with the support of the Haddonfield Police Department and our Commissioners.
