Don't Let Your Fire Hydrant Look Like This

The Moorestown Fire Department is asking residents to adopt their nearest hydrant and keep it clear of snow.

Since you're already out there shoveling, mind digging a few extra feet?

With the possibility of more snow on the way, the Moorestown Fire Department is asking residents to pitch in by freeing hydrants encased in snow to make sure firefighters have easy access in case of emergency.

The fire department would like families, friends and neighbors to adopt their nearest hydrant for the next two months. This can be a family or neighborhood project, or just an activity for children. Dig a 36-inch walk space from the curb line to the front of the hydrant and dig a 20-inch walk space completely around the hydrant.
