'Flimflam' Artist Wanted in Mt. Laurel: Police

Local merchants are urged to be extra cautious of this scam.

A warrant has been issued for a Philadelphia man accused of pulling off a pair of “flimflam” scams at local businesses, according to police.

Mount Laurel Police said Warren W. Sampson, 68, presented a $100 bill for orders at Pizzutillo’s Pizza and Bob Evans on Nov. 4, and then confused the employee over his change and other purchases. The result was Sampson ended up leaving the store with an extra $100 in his pocket at each restaurant, police said.

Police have charged Sampson with counts of theft.

Local merchants are urged to caution their employees of this scam in general, and Sampson in particular. Sampson’s last-known address is on the 200 block of North Vodger Street in Philadelphia, according to police.
