Law Enforcement Investigating Several Reports of Lewdness on Cape May County Beaches

As of Friday, there were five reported incidents of lewdness, including two in Middle Township, two in Cape May and one in Lower Township.

Law enforcement officials are investigating multiple reports of lewdness on beaches throughout Cape May County, Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor announced Friday afternoon.

As of Friday, there were five reported incidents of lewdness, including two in Middle Township, two in Cape May and one in Lower Township.

A subsequent investigation by the Major Crimes Unit of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Detectives from the Cape May City Police Department, Lower Township Police Department and the Middle Township Police Department ensued and is still active.

The subject allegedly drives to various locations, gets out of his vehicle with his pants down and begins to masturbate.

He is described as a white male with dark sunglasses, short hair, stocky build, operating a dark colored minivan or truck.

An additional description is that of a white male, dark sunglasses, close cropped sandy brown hair, stocky build, operating a dark colored SUV wearing athletic type shorts.

Law enforcement is asking the public to be vigilant and to contact their local police department by dialing 911 with any information regarding similar incidents.

Taylor continues to urge the citizens of Cape May County to report any information regarding illegal activity and or any criminal activity within the community and that this information can be reported anonymously through the Cape May County Sheriff’s Tip Line at cmcsheriff.net and click on anonymous tip, or through the Cape May County Crime Stoppers at 609-465-2800 or 877-465-2801, as well as the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office at 609-465-1168.
