Man Assaulted After Waking Up to Burglary

Also, two unarmed robbers try to fake a stickup, then disarm their victim of his BB gun, according to Maple Shade Police.

July 20

Robbery, 1:20 a.m. — A Clover Path resident had just arrived home and was removing a BB rifle from the trunk of his car when he was held up by two men, police said. The suspects, one of whom had his hand under shirt like he was holding a gun, approached the victim, and the other suspect demanded money. The victim didn’t believe the first suspect actually had a gun, so he started to walk away, police said. That’s when the second suspect, who’d demanded the money, grabbed the victim by the throat and the arm, took the BB rifle from him and pointed it at him. Both suspects then ran away, according to police.

Theft — Police said a Honda 3000C generator was stolen from a truck parked on Franklin Drive.

July 22

Robbery/burglary, 2:15 a.m. — A Madison Drive resident awoke to find two men had entered his apartment while he was sleeping, police said. The suspects entered the victim’s bedroom and attacked him, then fled with $800 in cash and an AT&T cell phone. Police described the first suspect as a thin black man, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches, 18-20 years old, wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants, a white bandana over his face, and gloves. The second suspect is described as a thin black man, about 6 feet to 6 feet 1 inch, 18-20 years old, wearing a bright green hoodie, dark pants, and a white bandana over his face.

July 24

Burglary/theft, 6:14 p.m. — Police said two laptops were stolen from Gardenia Drive. There were no signs of forced entry.
