Man Robs Pizza Delivery Driver at Knifepoint: Police

Mount Laurel Police charged Weldon J. Lucas, of Blackwood, with robbery.

Police arrested a Camden County man last week after he allegedly ordered a pizza and held up the delivery person at knifepoint.

Mount Laurel Police said Weldon J. Lucas, 26, of Prospect Avenue, Blackwood, ordered a pizza from Domino's and had it delivered to the rear of a hotel on Diemer Drive just before midnight on June 21. When the delivery person arrived, Lucas allegedly brandished a knife, ordered him to the ground and relieved the driver of his wallet, keys and cash. The driver was not injured.

Following an investigation, police arrested Lucas on June 24 at the hotel he was staying at on Diemer Drive. He was charged with robbery, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and terroristic threats.

Lucas was lodged in Burlington County Jail after failing to post $100,000 bail.
