Man Suffers Minor Burns Following Boat Fire Monday Afternoon

The boat caught fire in the Delaware River on Monday.

An adult male was received a minor burn on his leg when the boat he was on caught fire in the Delaware River off Newbold Island in Bordentown, State Police said Monday afternoon.

The male was aboard the 20-foot Bayliner with two females and two children when it caught fire around 3:30 p.m. The boat caught fire when those onboard attempted to start the engine.

The boat was in shallow water at the time of the fire and all on board were able to safely return to shore. No identities were immediately released.

The boat was towed to Neshaminy State Marina.
