Police arrest six people on drug charges and book a Moorestown man for DUI.

Jan. 8

Arrest (drug possession), 8:42 p.m. — Police arrested six people for drug possession on the unit block of Woodbine Avenue: Samantha Alpert, 19, Maple Shade; Mark Defelice Jr., 20, Maple Shade; Charles Franklin, 26, Swedesboro; Robert Gamelli, 19, Maple Shade; Scott McCloskey, 20, Moorestown; and Alexis Williams, 19, Camden. All six were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said. Alpert was charged with distribution of a controlled substance and possession of cocaine. She was taken to the Corrections and Work Release Center Pemberton on $7,500 bail. Franklin was charged with possession of cocaine and taken to Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly on $7,500 bail, police said. The other four were released on summonses.

Jan. 9

Burglary and theft, 7:44 p.m. — Police said a safe at the Maple Shade heavy rescue station 108, on West Linwood Avenue, was pried open and approximately $150 cash stolen. There was other damage inside the building as well. The incident occurred sometime between Dec. 5 and Jan. 9, police said.

Jan. 15

Arrest (DUI), 2:17 a.m. — Police arrested Michael G. O’Conner III, 51, of Moorestown, for driving under the influence on Route 38. He was also charged with speeding and reckless driving, police said.
