Maple Shade Police Foil Break-In

Police arrested two adults and a juvenile who forced their way into a home Saturday night.

Maple Shade Police arrested two adults and a juvenile Saturday night after the suspects forced their way into a home.

Police received a call around 9:50 p.m. Saturday that three people were attempting to break into a residence in the unit block of North Cedar Avenue. The suspects had confronted the homeowners and forced their way in through the front door, police said.

Upon arriving, police arrested Kathleen V. Carr, of the 500 block of West Main Street, Maple Shade, for burglary, conspiracy and three counts of aggravated assault. Her bail was set at $25,000 and she was placed in Burlington County Jail with a court date scheduled for 5 p.m. Sept. 19.

Police also took into custody Ian D. Katz, of the unit block of North Holly Avenue, Maple Shade, on charges of burglary, conspiracy, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Katz’s bail was set at $25,000 and he was placed in Burlington County Jail. He’s scheduled to appear in court the same date and time as Carr.

Police did not name the juvenile who was taken into custody. He was placed in the county’s juvenile detention center.
