Marine Injured During Training Exercise in Burlington County

The man was unidentified. He was an instructor in the training.

An unidentified marine was injured during a training exercise at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst over the weekend, nj.com reports.

The marine was allegedly injured by a ricochet bullet during the live exercise just after 6 p.m. Saturday, according to the report.

The marine was taken to the hospital that night, and details of how he was shot were not immediately available, according to the report.

Members of the 6th Communications Battalion, Force Headquarters Group, Marine Forces Reserve, which is based in New Orleans were involved in the training. The injured marine appears to have been an instructor, according to the report.

The base encompasses Burlington and Ocean counties, south of Trenton.
