Memorial for Moorestown Cop Created Near Historic Site

Moorestown Police Ptlm. Craig Berner was killed two weeks ago in an off-duty motorcycle accident.

Loved ones have erected a small makeshift memorial near the site of late Moorestown Police Ptlm. Craig Berner's fatal motorcycle accident.

The memorial—with flowers and personal messages, including a Starbucks coffee cup with "Craig, I will miss you ... R.I.P." written on it—is at the base of a tree in front of the historic Swede Run Barn on Westfield Road.

Berner was killed after he lost control of his motorcycle on Westfield Road July 27. He was thrown and hit by a truck traveling in the opposite direction. The driver of that vehicle was an off-duty Burlington County Prosecutor's Office detective.

Berner was a 26-year veteran of the Moorestown Police Department.

Funeral services for Berner were held last weekend.
