Police responded to suspicious activity around town.

Aug. 16

Suspicious person, 7:47 p.m. — A resident on the 500 block of South Church Street reported a male standing in the backyard. The man stated he was checking the fence line for underground electric lines. When the resident became suspicious, the man left. Police patrolled the area but were unable to locate the man.

Aug. 17

Suspicious vehicle, 12:54 p.m. — Police received a report of a suspicious blue Chevrolet painter’s truck in the area of Flynn Avenue and Covington Terrace. The caller told police the driver was asking strange questions. Police patrols checked the area but were unable to find the truck.

Burglary, 8:42 p.m. — A resident from the 500 block of East Second St. told police he was approached in his driveway by a Hispanic man wearing brown pants and a brown shirt. The man identified himself as a PSE&G worker and stated PSE&G would be putting utility lines in the rear of the property. The resident and the man then walked to the rear of the property where they discussed the project. The Hispanic man then left on foot toward Main Street. The resident returned to his home and found it had been burglarized.

Aug. 18

Suspicious Activity, 9:08 a.m. – A woman who lives on the 200 block of East Second Street told police someone entered her unlocked vehicle the night of Aug. 17. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Residents are urged to contact the immediately at 856-235-0130 if they notice any suspicious activity in their neighborhood.
