A man watches his vehicle drive off with someone else behind the wheel and police investigate reports of suspicious people.

Sept. 30

Criminal mischief, 9:25 p.m. — During a routine patrol, police officers observed the glass front door to 115 W. Main St. had been broken. No one had gained entry to the building, police said.

Burglary, 9:47 p.m. — A resident on the 200 block of Saint Anthony’s Drive told police they heard loud banging noises coming from the rear of their home. Patrols responded and discovered the back door had been forced open. Police checked the house and did not find anyone inside. Nothing was reported missing, police said.

Oct. 1

Suspicious person, 10:48 p.m. — A woman told police that while walking to her car at the Family Dollar on West Camden Avenue she was approached by a black man wearing a red sweatshirt and a white female. The man asked for a ride and when the complainant refused, she told police the man became verbally abusive toward her. Patrols checked the area and were unable to locate the subjects, police said.

Oct. 5

Burglary, 11:21 a.m. — A resident from the 100 block of New Albany Road told police sometime between Oct. 2 and 3, someone cut a lock to their maintenance shed and stole two washing machines and a dryer.

Suspicious person, 8:52 p.m. — A Harris Avenue resident told police there was a tall white man walking in their backyard. Police checked the area and could not find the man.

Oct. 6

Vehicle theft, 3:23 p.m. — A man told police that while he was working at a house on West Maple Avenue he heard his vehicle start and then watched it drive off. The vehicle was last seen on Maple Avenue heading toward Church Street, police said. A witness described the suspect behind the wheel as a Hispanic man in his early 20s, wearing a dark blue shirt and dark shorts, with a white baseball cap turned backwards.
