UPDATE: Moorestown Police Seek Pair of K-Mart Jewelry Thieves
The suspects made off with about $2,000 worth of jewelry from K-Mart on Route 38 Friday night.
UPDATE: Police provided additional details and photos Saturday morning:
Suspect #1 used a tool to cut open the security cable supporting a freestanding jewelry case to the counter. Suspect #2 took the case and fled.
When the loss prevention officer attempted to stop suspect #2, suspect #1 threatened him with a knife and told suspect #2 to retrieve a gun from the car so he could shoot him.
The officer to safety, and neither suspect displayed a gun.
The suspects fled north on South Lenola Road in a dark blue Chevrolet sedan.
ORIGINAL: Moorestown Police are seeking a pair of thieves who stole a case of jewelry from K-Mart on Route 38 worth $2,000 on Friday night, police said.
At about 8:30 p.m., two men entered the K-Mart, approached the jewelry counter and took a case of jewelry, police said. When they were approached by a loss prevention officer, the suspects fled and said they had a gun and a knife.
The suspects got into a tussle with the officer while he tried to apprehend them. They fled in a blue older vehicle. The officer was not injured in the tussle.
