Moorestown Police are investigating a residential burglary that took place Tuesday evening.

A pair of Moorestown residents walked in on a burglary-in-progress at their Maple Avenue home Tuesday evening, police said.

According to Moorestown Police, the residents got home around 5:30 and found their front door had been kicked in. When they entered the home, on the 100 block of West Maple, they were confronted by a white man and woman described as being in their mid to late 30s. The male suspect tried to punch the male resident and threatened that he had a gun, police said. Neither resident was injured.

Both suspects then left the home and fled east on Maple Avenue toward Chester Avenue, according to police. They were driving a GMC Sierra pickup—New Jersey license plate MYL-85V—that police later discovered was reported stolen Tuesday morning in Monroe Township, Middlesex County.

Police have not determined whether anything was stolen from the home.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Moorestown Police detectives at 856-914-3092.
