Moorestown Shoplifter Crashed Into Couple: Police

According to a report in the Burlington County Times, the alleged shoplifter was fleeing the scene when he struck the couple's car.

A Moorestown man was arrested after police said he shoplifted from Wegmans, then crashed into an elderly couple's car while he was trying to escape.

According to a report in the Burlington County Times, Scott Bender, 30, of Locust Street, was caught shoplifting undisclosed items from the Wegmans on Centerton Road Thursday afternoon and crashed into the couple's vehicle at Young Avenue and Main Street, Mount Laurel Police said. 

Bender was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, obstruction and receiving stolen property, as well as shoplifting, the Times reported.
