Moorestown Sprinkler Thief Busted: Police

Check your sprinkler systems, folks.

Police arrested a Camden man over the weekend who they caught stealing brass sprinkler valves for scrap from several Moorestown Hunt homes, according to a report. 

Moorestown Police arrested David R. Shaffer, 46, of the 1000 block of Magnolia Avenue, Saturday after he was found in possession of a dozen brass lawn sprinkler backflow valves, valued at $840, according to the report. The valves had been stolen from residences in Moorestown Hunt and Voorhees.

Police said they still have several valves whose owners have not yet been determined. To avoid a hassle come spring, residents are encouraged to check their sprinkler systems and call police at 856-914-3092 if the valve is missing.
