Moorestown Woman Tried to Burn Down Apartment, Police Say

A Moorestown woman faces arson charges after allegedly setting multiple fires in her apartment last week.

Mary Mawson, 57, of Chester Avenue, lit five fires in her Frog Hollow apartment, part of a four-unit building, on Aug. 20, Moorestown Police said.

While there were no injuries, there was smoke and fire damage to the apartment, police said, and Mawson was charged with arson in the incident.

Her bail was set at $35,000, but she was released on her own recognizance with conditions, police said.
