A Mount Laurel man has been charged with attempted murder after police allegedly caught him strangling his wife last week.

According to a report, emergency dispatchers received several abandoned 911 calls from a residence on the 100 block of Canterbury Road late Friday afternoon. Mount Laurel Police responded and upon entering the home found Brian H. Catlett, 47, choking his 44-year-old wife, the report said.

An investigation revealed Catlett had also assaulted a juvenile male under his care, police said.

Both victims were taken to Virtua Hospital in Mount Holly by Mount Laurel EMS for treatment and later released. Catlett was taken to Virtua Hospital in Marlton and treated for a minor injury.

He was charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of endangering the welfare of a child and sent to Burlington County Jail on $525,000 bail, police said.
