Police search for an armed robbery suspect and make arrests for prostitution, Army desertion and other crimes.

Oct. 12

Armed robbery, 6:52 p.m. — A lone gunman held up an attendant at the Exxon gas station on the 1200 block of Route 73, police said. The suspect demanded money and the attendant turned over an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect then fled on foot. He was described as a black man wearing dark clothing, police said. Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 856-234-1414, ext. 526.

Arrest (shoplifting) — Police arrested Alvydas Mencevius, 41, of the 100 block of East Kennedy Boulevard, Lakewood, for shoplifting $248 in cosmetics from the ShopRite on Ark Road. He was released pending a municipal court hearing.

Oct. 13

Arrest, (shoplifting) — Police arrested Joseph L. Yoka, 44, of the 300 block of Broadway, Westville, on for shoplifting $29.79 in food from Wegmans on Centerton Road. He was released pending a municipal court hearing.

Theft — An AT&T employee told police copper fittings and ground bars were stolen from a cell phone tower on the 4100 block of Church Road. The incident occurred sometime between April 11 and Oct. 13, police said.

Theft (Holiday Village East) — A resident of the 100 block of Indigo Drive told police a gold bracelet, valued at $2,000, was stolen from their jewelry box. The theft occurred sometime between 4 p.m. Oct. 5 and 4 p.m. Oct. 7. There was no sign of forced entry, police said.

Oct. 14

Arrest (prostitution) — Police arrested Xanthia L. Vann, 24, of the 100 block of Reach Way, Birmingham, AL, for prostitution after she solicited an undercover officer at the Hotel ML on Route 73, police said. She was released pending a municipal court hearing.  

Arrest (shoplifting) — Police arrested Walter H. Marlin, 38, of the first block of Fireside Circle, Columbus, NJ, for shoplifting $83.99 in alcohol from Laurel Liquors on Route 38. He was released pending a municipal court hearing.

Oct. 15

Arrest (DWI), 1:35 a.m. — Police arrested Michael C. Quaranta, 42, of the 700 block of Coventry Way, after he was stopped on Nixon Drive. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing, police said.

Theft, 12:40-12:55 p.m. — A customer of the Target on Centerton Road had their wallet and its contents, valued at $330, stolen after it was accidentally left in the bathroom, police said.

Theft from vehicle, 2:14-2:34 p.m. — A GPS device and cash, valued at approximately $220, were stolen from an unlocked vehicle by Francesca’s Pizza, 127 Ark Road, police said.

Oct. 16

Arrest (shoplifting), 12:54 a.m. — Police arrested Alfredo Jimenez, 21, of the 2900 block of High Street, Camden, for displaying a fake temporary registration on his vehicle. He was stopped on Route 38, police said, and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Oct. 17

Criminal mischief (Saratoga Farms) — A resident of the 100 block of Preakness Drive reported the roof of their vehicle was damaged. The incident occurred between 5 p.m. Oct. 16 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 17, police said. Damage is estimated at $500.

Criminal mischief — An employee of Test America, of the 500 block of Fellowship Road, reported several vehicles were forcibly entered and damaged. Police said the incident occurred between 5 p.m. Oct. 14 and 8:32 a.m. Oct. 17. Damage is estimated at $3,000.

Arrest (fraud/drug possession) — Police arrested Sherry L. Hollis, 29, of the 600 block of West Third Street, Florence, after she allegedly presented a fraudulent motor vehicle insurance card during a traffic stop. Police said she was also in possession of 50 grams of marijuana. Hollis was committed to Burlington County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.

Theft (Birchfield) — Someone stole $8,000 in cash from a resident of the first block of Marigold Court, police said. The incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Oct. 15 and 12:16 p.m. Oct. 17. There was no sign of forced entry to the residence.

Oct. 18

Arrest (DWI), 2:20 p.m. — Police arrested Jon-Paul T. Ritchie, 37, of the first block of Almonesson Drive, Blackwood, after he was involved in a single vehicle accident on Route 73. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing, police said.

Arrest (army deserter) — Police arrested Ryan C. Stokes, 20, of CT, at the Greyhound bus terminal, 538 Fellowship Road, for being a U.S. Army deserter, according to reports. He was committed to Burlington County Jail on a federal warrant.

Burglary, 10 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. — Someone broke into a home on the 4200 block of Church Road by forcing open a door and stole an undetermined amount of cash, jewelry and other items, police said.

Arrest (DWI) — Police arrested Linda S. White, 46, of the 100 block of Quarterhorse Court, Marlton, for driving while intoxicated. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident at Route 73 and Church Road, where they charged White. She was released pending a municipal court hearing.

Oct. 20

Theft, 1-5 a.m. — Several guests of the Weston Hotel on Fellowship Road reported tires were stolen from their vehicles. Police said the tires were stolen from eight vehicles parked at the hotel. The total value of the tires was $4,000.

Theft, 2:08 p.m. — Someone drove off without paying for $10 worth of gas from the Sunoco station on South Church Street, according to police.
