Prostitution, DWI and drug arrests, plus burglary and theft investigations, keep Mount Laurel Police busy.

Jan. 19

Arrest (hindering), 10 a.m. — Police arrested Kenneth W. Shields, 33, of the 905 block of Birch Avenue, Gloucester City, for providing false information to avoid arrest on an outstanding warrant during a suspicious person investigation on Route 73, according to a report. Shields was released pending a municipal court hearing.

Burglary, 10 a.m. to noon — Someone stole jewelry and cash, valued at approximately $400, from a residence on the 600 block of Hartford Road, police said. No force was used to enter the home.

Jan. 20

Arrest (drug possession), 3:10 a.m. — Police arrested Melisa Giansante, 40, of the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue, Bellmawr, for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested after being stopped on South Church Street for a motor vehicle violation, police said, and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Arrest (shoplifting), 6 p.m. — Police arrested Joy P. Strickland, 49, of the 100 block of Hartford Road, for shoplifting approximately $19 worth of merchandise from ShopRite on Ark Road, according to a report. She was released pending a municipal court hearing.

Jan. 22

Arrest (hindering), 1:05 a.m. — Police arrested Althea S. Henderson, 45, of the 300 block of Keasby Street, Salem, after she provided false information to avoid arrest on an outstanding warrant during a disorderly person investigation at the Aloft hotel, according to a report. She was charged with obstruction and hindering. Her bail was set at $5,000 and she was committed to the Burlington County Jail, police said.

Arrest (shoplifting), 4 p.m. — Police arrested Amber B. Farley, 24, of the 100 block of Garden Street, Mount Holly, for shoplifting approximately $19 in merchandise from ShopRite on Ark Road, police said. She was released pending a municipal court hearing.

Jan. 23

Arrest (prostitution), 3:30 p.m. — Police arrested Lisa D. Perry, 42, of the 1100 block of Greene Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, for prostitution and possession of marijuana following an investigation at a hotel on the 500 block of Fellowship Road, according to a report. She was released pending a municipal court hearing.

Arrest (DWI), 3:46 p.m. — Police arrested John Jennings, 49, of the 1200 block of Cedar Drive, Medford, subsequent to a single-vehicle accident investigation on Ark Road. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, police said, issued a summons and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Jan. 24

Burglary, 2:30 a.m. — Someone stole $5,200 worth of batteries from Cricket Communications on the 400 block of Mount Laurel Road, according to police. It did not appear force was used to gain access to the building.

Theft, 5:30-6:30 p.m. — Police said someone stole $20 cash and credit cards from a Cracker Barrel customer’s purse while it was hanging on her chair. One of the cards was used shortly thereafter at a store on Route 73.

Arrest (theft), 6:25 p.m. — Police arrested Sara Metroka, 29, of the 2800 block of Route 73, Maple Shade, following an investigation into a theft that occurred in the 1100 block of Route 73, according to a report. Metroka was charged with theft of a controlled dangerous substance. She was lodged at the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bail.

Arrest (drug possession), 9 p.m. — Police arrested Brian Eldridge, 31, of the 3200 block of Copper Avenue, Pennsauken, after responding to the ShopRite parking lot on Ark Road and finding Eldridge had suffered burns to his face and hands while inhaling a flammable substance and smoking a cigarette, according to a report. He was transported to Cooper Hospital for treatment and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Jan. 25

Arrest (possession of marijuana), 7:20 p.m. — Police arrested Angelica McClelland, 25, of the 2800 block of Waterstone Loop, High Point, NC, during an investigation at a hotel on the 1100 block of Route 73. She was charged with possession of marijuana and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Jan. 26

Arrest (DWI), 12:14 a.m. — Police arrested Reginald L. Williams II, 22, of the 1300 block of Chelsea Court, Voorhees, after he was stopped on Route 73 for a motor vehicle violation. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Arrest (DWI), 1:24 p.m. — Police arrested Mari F. D’Amico, 52, of the first block of East Daisy Lane, after stopping her on Birchfield Drive for a motor vehicle violation. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Arrest (drug possession), 9:17 p.m. — Police arrested Kristofer M. Thomas, 27, of the first block of Maplewood Drive, Maple Shade, for possession of marijuana. He was arrested after police stopped him on Route 38 for a motor vehicle violation. Thomas was released pending a municipal court hearing.
