Police arrest two for possession of synthetic marijuana and investigate $17,000 worth of damage to some hotel chairs.

March 2

Arrest (DWI), 9:01 p.m. — Police arrested George J. Hope, 38, of the unit block of East Rudderow Avenue, Maple Shade, subsequent to an investigation of a three-car collision on Centerton Road near Marne Highway. Police said Hope’s vehicle left the road and came to rest in a retention pond. He was assisted from his vehicle by police and transported to JFK Hospital in  Cherry Hill by Mount Laurel EMS. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.

March 3

Arrest (DWI), 2:04 a.m. — Police arrested Justin T. Chudoff, 19, of the unit block of Saw Mill Drive, during an investigation near the 200 block of Burnamwood Drive. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and with being under the influence of a controlled substance, police said. He was released pending a municipal court hearing.

Arrest (underage drinking), 2:49 a.m. — Police arrested Richard E. Hockenbury, 18, and Andrew S. Mickel, 20, both of the 100 block of Parkway Terrace, following a suspicious person complaint in the area of Golf Lane and East Saint Andrew’s Drive, police said. They were each charged with underage consumption of alcohol and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Criminal mischief, 5-7 a.m. — Someone cut 80 chairs in the ballroom of the Westin Hotel on Fellowship Road, causing $17,200 in damage, police said.

Burglary — Police said someone broke into a home on the 400 block of Hartford Road by forcing open a door and stole $1,000 of electronic equipment. The burglary occurred between March 1 and 11:55 a.m. March 3.

Arrest (drug possession), 12:11 p.m. — Police arrested Shawn McCleery Jr., 20, of the 200 block of New York Avenue, Hainesport, and a 15-year-old juvenile, also of Hainesport, for possession of synthetic marijuana. They were arrested after police stopped them on Marne Highway for a motor vehicle violation, according to a report. McCleery was released pending a municipal court hearing.  

Criminal mischief, 10:40 a.m. to 12:56 p.m. — An employee of Burlington County College security told police someone broke into a vacant building on the 100 block of Hartford Road, causing more than $50 in damage.

March 4

Theft — A snow blower and pipe, valued at approximately $3,100, were stolen from Transco Pipeline property on the 100 block of Pike Road, police said. The theft occurred between 9 a.m. March 3 and 9 a.m. March 4.

March 5

Theft — Someone stole $4,641 worth of wheels and tires off two vehicles at the Holman Toyota lot on the 1300 block of Route 71, police said. The theft occurred between 7 p.m. March 3 and 6:30 a.m. March 5.

Theft — A Mount Laurel Township employee reported an air conditioning unit, valued at approximately $350, was taken from a township-owned property on the 1200 block of Hainesport Road. The theft occurred between 8 a.m. on Feb. 25 and 8 a.m. March 5.

Arrest (shoplifting), 11:46 a.m. — Police arrested Kelly L. Evans, 27, of the unit block of Meetinghouse Court, Shamong, for shoplifting approximately $96 in merchandise from ShopRite on Ark Road, according to a report. She was also charged with unlawful possession of a hypodermic needle and released pending a municipal court hearing.  

March 6

Burglary (Laurel Knoll) — A resident of the unit block of Millstream Drive told police their neighbor’s house was burglarized. The burglar forced open a window and stole jewelry, police said. The burglary occurred between 12 p.m. March 5 and 10:30 a.m. March 6.
