Mount Laurel Police Blotter

Police make a number of arrests for aggravated assault/robbery, drug possession and DWI.

Dec. 22

Burglary — Wiring and an air framing gun, valued at approximately $600, were stolen from a residence on the 1400 block of Hainesport Road, police said. The incident occurred between Dec. 18 and 22.

Dec. 29

Criminal mischief (Willowmere) — A resident of the first block of Cattail Drive reported a window was broken at their home, causing approximately $1,000 in damage. The incident occurred between 11 a.m. Dec. 26 and 4 p.m. Dec. 29.

Dec. 30

Theft, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. — A door from a tractor and several tools, valued at $3,200, were stolen from a back yard on the 1200 block of Hainesport Road, police said.

Burglary (Pheasant Run), 1-7:39 p.m. — Police said someone broke into a home on the first block of Quail Court, causing an estimated $1,000 damage. Nothing was reported missing.

Dec. 31

Arrest (criminal mischief), 1:55 a.m. — Police arrested Shane P. Mullin, 20, of the 100 block of Vernon Drive, Cinnaminson, after they were called to the area of Shadow Oak Court for a report of a suspicious person. Mullin had broken a fence and gotten into a yard, police said. He also provided officers with a false name. He was charged with criminal mischief, hindering, trespassing, and disorderly conduct. He was released pending a municipal court hearing.  

Arrest (drug possession), 2:49 p.m. — Police arrested Christopher L. Curtis, 22, of the 400 block of Timberline Drive, for possession of heroin. Police were called to the area of the Exxon station on Route 38 for a possible drug transaction in progress, according to a report. Curtis was charged with possession of heroin and released pending a municipal court hearing.  

Burglary (Ramblewood Farms) — A resident of the 200 block of Kingsley Court reported a break-in at their home. The incident occurred between Dec. 2 and 8:44 p.m. Dec. 31, police said. An undetermined amount of jewelry was taken.  

Jan. 1

Theft (Devonshire) — A package, with contents valued at $20, was stolen from the front porch of a residence on the first block of Lancelot Lane, police said. The theft occurred between 9 a.m. Dec. 23 and 11:43 a.m. Jan. 1.

Burglary — Jewelry, cash and a handgun—all valued at approximately $19,500—were stolen from a residence on the 300 block of Ark Road after a burglar forced their way in, police said. The burglary occurred sometime between 1 p.m. Dec. 26 and 2 p.m. Jan. 1.

Burglary — Someone broke into a home on the first block of Forrest Court and stole $3,400 in jewelry, police said. The incident occurred between 2 p.m. Dec. 27 and 2 p.m. Jan. 1.

Jan. 2

Criminal mischief (Stonegate) — Police said the tires were slashed on a vehicle belonging to a resident of the first block of Ballinger Way. The incident occurred between 11 p.m. Jan. 1 and 3 a.m. Jan. 2. Damage is estimated at $400.   

Criminal mischief (Laurel Place) — A resident of the 1000 block of Sedgefield Drive reported  their tires were slashed, police said.The incident occurred between 11 p.m. Jan. 1 and 3 a.m. Jan. 2. Damage is estimated at $400.  

Arrest (DWI), 4:45 p.m. — Police arrested Valery J. Fate, 41, of the first block of Taylors Lane, Cinnaminson, following an investigation into a hit-and-run at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Avenue and South Church Street, according to a report. Fate was located and arrested on Sumac Court and charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Jan. 3

Arrest (DWI), 2:38 a.m. — Police arrested Javone Harris, 18, of the 300 block of Kelly Cove, and Justin Divor, 19, of the 600 block of Magnolia Court, Marlton, after police stopped them on Kelly Cove during an investigation into a noise complaint, according to a report. Harris was charged with driving while intoxicated. Divor was charged with underage consumption of alcohol. They were released pending a municipal court hearing.  

Burglary (Ramblewood), 4:45-8:45 p.m. — Jewelry and other items, valued at $50, were stolen from a residence on the 100 block of Brentwood Drive following a break-in, according to police. Damage is estimated at $2000.

Theft — A resident of the 400 block of Mount Laurel Road told police copper tubing, valued at $250, was taken from their residence. The incident occurred during the last several months.

Jan. 4

Arrest (obstruction), 1:23 p.m. — Police arrested Spencer Taylor, 36, of the first block of Oregon Avenue, after he became aggressive and refused to cooperate with an officer during a vehicle stop on Fellowship Road, police said. He was released pending a court hearing.  

Arrest (aggravated assault/robbery) — Police arrested Daemen N. Hodge, 18, of the 1000 block of Larchmont Place, following an investigation into an incident that occurred during the afternoon of Jan. 4 on Hope Court. He was released on 10 percent of $5000 bail pending a court hearing, police said.  

Arrest (possession of marijuana), 7:46 p.m. — Police arrested Dylan M. Myers, 19, of the first block of East Chestnut Avenue, Merchantville, after he was stopped on Route 38 for a motor vehicle violation, police said. He was charged with possession of marijuana and released pending a court hearing.  

Theft — An employee of Akash Investments on Church Road reported checks were stolen during an unknown time frame and cashed for $2,780.20.
