Mount Laurel Police Make Drug, DWI Arrests
Also, police investigate a vehicle theft from the Target parking lot.
Dec. 31
Arrest (shoplifting) — Police arrested Muhammad A. Muhammad, 61, of the 100 block of Ridson Street, Mount Holly, for shoplifting $74.21 in merchandise from Wegmans on Centerton Road, according to a report. He was served with criminal complaints and released pending a municipal court hearing.
Arrest (drug possession) — Police arrested Joseph Catalani Jr., 35, of the unit block of Write Avenue, Berlin, during an investigation at a hotel on the 1100 block of Route 73. Catalani was charged with possession of prescription medication not prescribed to him and possession of drug paraphernalia and released pending a municipal court hearing, police said.
Theft, 1:10-2:17 p.m. — Someone forced their way into a locker in the YMCA on Centerton Road and stole a jacket and wallet valued at $379, police said.
Jan. 1
Arrest (DWI), 2:28 a.m. — Police arrested Christopher T. Murray, 23, of Oregon Avenue, after he was stopped on Route 73 for a motor vehicle violation, according to a report. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.
Arrest (DWI), 5:03 a.m. — Police arrested Raquel Aviles, 31, of Woodhollow Drive, Marlton, after she was stopped on Route 73 for a motor vehicle violation, according to a report. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.
Jan. 2
Stolen vehicle, 5:20-11:20 p.m. — Someone stole a $6,000 1997 Acura Integra from the Target parking lot, according to police. The vehicle belonged to a Target employee.
Jan. 3
Arrest (drug possession), 12:08 a.m. — Police arrested Shira McLemore, 31, of the 4400 block of Ernie Davis Circle, Philadelphia, after she was stopped on Route 73 for a motor vehicle violation, according to a report. McLemore was charged with possession of prescription medication not prescribed to her and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released pending a municipal court hearing.
Theft — Police said someone stole a brass backflow device, valued at $400, from the sprinkler system outside SJS Atrium Way LLC on Atrium Way. The theft occurred sometime between 12 p.m. Dec. 15 and 11:30 a.m. Jan. 3. The device was removed by force, causing $600 in damage.
Arrest (possession of marijuana), 6 p.m. — Police arrested Matthew W. Brooks II, 23, of the 400 block of Equality Court, during a suspicious person investigation near the 100 block of Haines Road. Brooks was charged with possession of marijuana and released pending a municipal court hearing, police said.
