Police: 60-Year-Old Woman Nearly Mugged Downtown

Moorestown Police are looking for a suspect who accosted the woman in the municipal parking lot behind PNC.

A 60-year-old Moorestown woman was nearly mugged in the municipal parking lot behind PNC Bank Friday afternoon, police said.

According to Moorestown Police, the woman was walking from her car to the PNC ATM around 5:30 p.m. when she was accosted by a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black boots. The suspect knocked her to the ground and tried, unsuccessfully, to steal her handbag. He then fled the scene, and the woman continued with her business, police said, before flagging down a patrol officer as she drove home to report the crime.

The victim was taken to the hospital by Moorestown EMS for minor injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Moorestown Police Criminal Investigations at 856-914-3092.

Am I the only one bothered by the fact that this woman "continued with her business" before finding a police officer? She had injuries and needed medical attention, but found her ATM withdrawal more important?
