Police: A/C Thieves Strike Vacant Properties

Maple Shade Police say the thieves made off with tens of thousands of dollars in air conditioning equipment.

Dec. 10

Theft, 9:15 a.m. — Someone stole an air conditioner condenser, valued at more than $2,500, from Calzaretto & Company LLC, on the 400 block of Route 38, police said.

Dec. 12

Arrest (DWI), 2:57 p.m. — Police arrested Margaret Ann Palumbo, 47, of Maple Shade after she was stopped on West Main Street, according to a report. Palumbo was charged with driving while intoxicated and other related traffic offenses.
Dec. 19

Theft, 9:11 a.m. — Someone stole five air conditioner units, worth more than $75,000, from the vacant former Bally’s Fitness on the 2800 block of Route 73.

Attempted theft, 5:01 p.m. — Police said someone tried to steal an air conditioner unit from the vacant La-Z-Boy store on the 400 block of Route 38.
