Police Catch Alleged Forklift Thieves Red-Handed

Also, Maple Shade Police investigate a possible ex-boyfriend burglary.

July 28

Arrest (fraud), 4:07 p.m. — Police arrested Edward Riley Lamore, 74, of Philadelphia, for allegedly trying to fill a fraudulent prescription at the CVS on Route 73, according to a report. He was released on a summons pending a court hearing.

July 29

Burglary, 2:15 a.m. — Police said someone slid into a home on Jefferson Drive through an unlocked window and stole a MacBook and an iPod.

Burglary, 5:29 a.m. — Police responded to the unit block of South Clinton Avenue for a report of an intruder in a residence, but the person was gone by the time police arrived. The individual stole several personal items from the residence and may have entered through the back door, police said. The two female roommates told police it may have been one of their ex-boyfriends. Police continue to investigate.

Burglary, 11:20 p.m. — Someone stole $2,200 cash, a 32-inch Samsung TV, four Samsung Notebook laptops, a Samsung Galaxy One phone and a Samsung digital camera with a USB cable from a home on Gardenia Drive after entering through an unlocked door, according to police.

Aug. 1

Arrest (theft), 2:35 a.m. — Police arrested Peter M. McCullough, 19, of Philadelphia, and Ryan Timothy Gumpper, 20, of Maple Shade, after an officer came across a theft in progress at Eastern Lift Truck at Loop Road and East Linwood Avenue, according to a report. Police said the two suspects had loaded five forks from lift trucks into their Dodge Dakota pickup. The officer quickly took McCullough into custody, but Gumpper fled on foot, police said. Within hours, he was taken into custody at his home. McCullough and Gumpper were remanded to Burlington County Jail, on $15,000 and $20,000 bail respectively.

Theft, 9:06 p.m. — Police are looking for a man they say stole a number of tools from a truck parked at the Quality Inn, including an electric Hilti jackhammer, 100-foot 50-amp extension cord, two five-gallon fuel cans, a steel digging bar, two pairs of knee-high camouflage boots, and a 10-gallon Igloo cooler. Security cameras show a white male, medium build, with facial hair and short hair, wearing a plain white T-shirt, light color cargo shorts and flip-flops, removing the items and placing them in the bed of a dark-colored Chevrolet or GMC 4x4 pickup, according to police. The truck then left heading toward Route 38.
