Police Investigate High-Priced Burglaries

Also, Mount Laurel Police are searching for suspects in a burglary at the Capehart Scatchard law offices and a shoplifting incident at Home Depot.

July 5

Burglary — Someone broke into a home on the 4200 block of Church Road by forcing open a back door and stole about $4,700 worth of jewelry, according to police. The burglary occurred sometime between July 4 and 5.

July 6
   
Shoplifting, 9 p.m. — Police are looking for a suspect in a shoplifting at Home Depot. According to police, a white male in his 20s left the store with power tools worth $600 and climbed into a green sedan driven by a white female that was waiting just outside the doors. Images of the suspect and the suspect vehicle are attached to this story. Arrest (possession of marijuana), 10 p.m. — Police arrested Timothy P. Crews, 27, of the 300 block of Delancey Place, after he was stopped on Route 38. Crews was arrested on an outstanding warrant and also charged with possession of marijuana, police said. He was committed to Burlington County Jail in lieu of $500 bail.  

Arrest (hindering), 10 p.m. — Police arrested Michael Watkins, 48, of the 5000 block of Aberdeen Drive, for providing a false identity to officers after he was stopped on Route 38, according to a report. Watkins was charged with hindering his own apprehension and released pending a court hearing.  

July 7

Theft/criminal mischief, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Someone smashed the window of a vehicle parked at the Cracker Barrel on Route 73 and stole a briefcase containing about $200 worth of books, police said. The damage to the vehicle, owned by a Cracker Barrel employee, is estimated at $300.

Arrest (hindering), 1:25 p.m. — Police arrested Kristy Jackson, 35, of the first block of Hopkins Lane, Willingboro, after she was stopped on Creek Road for a traffic violation, according to a report. Police said she gave a false identity to officers to avoid being arrested on outstanding warrants. She was charged with hindering her own apprehension and committed to Burlington County Jail on $1,500 bail.

Arrest (DWI), 6 p.m. — Police arrested Dennis C. Berger, 53, of the first block of Wynnewood Drive, Voorhees, after he was stopped on Route 73, according to a report. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing, police said.  

Burglary — Someone broke into a home on the first block of Woodlark Drive by forcing open a door and stole $500 worth of jewelry, police said. The burglary occurred between July 1 and 7.

July 8

Theft — Someone stole the community sign for the Ramblewood Farms development located at Academy Drive and Union Mill Road sometime between July 5 and 8, according to police. The sign is worth approximately $1,000.

July 9

Burglary (Holiday Village East) — Police said someone broke into a home on the 600 block of South Cascade Drive by forcing open a rear window and stole an undetermined amount of jewelry sometime between July 6 and 9.

Criminal mischief — An unknown suspect vandalized car painting equipment at Carsmetics, 1207 Route 73, sometime between June 29 and July 9, causing an estimated $3,300 damage, police said.

Burglary/theft, 6:30-8:30 p.m. — Police are looking for a suspect after the Capehart Scatchard offices, 8000 Midlantic Drive, were burglarized. Police said a computer, cash and checks were stolen from the offices. A suspect was captured by security cameras and is pictured in the second set of images attached to this story. He is described as a black male with a balding head, wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt. July 10

Burglary (Brittany Commons), 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. — A burglar forced open the rear window of a home on the 400 block of Evans Court and stole $2,500 worth of jewelry and electronics, according to police.

Arrest (DWI), 7:10 p.m. — Police arrested Robert E. Schwartz, 66, of the first block of Church Road, Maple Shade, after he was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Church Road, according to a report. Schwartz was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

July 11

Arrest (hindering), 1:50 a.m. — Police arrested Gustavo Trifundio-Pintor, 24, of the 600 block of Berkley Street, Camden, for providing officers with a false identity to avoid being arrested on outstanding warrants during a stop for a motor vehicle violation on Fellowship Road, according to a report. He was committed to Burlington County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.

Criminal mischief, 2:20 a.m. — Police said someone pulled wooden posts off the fence at Ramblewood Country Club and threw them into the middle of Church Street. No vehicles struck the fence posts, however the fence sustained approximately $100 in damage, according to police.

Burglary/theft (Christopher Mills), 6:30-10 p.m. — A burglar entered a Segal Court residence through an unlocked window and stole an undetermined amount of jewelry and cash, police said. A suspect was seen running from the area. He was described as a thin black male in his 20s, wearing black clothing and carrying a duffle bag.

July 12

Burglary/criminal mischief, 11 p.m.
— Police said someone broke a window at the Alice Paul Centennial House, 128 Hooton Road, activating the burglar alarm, and entered the building. It does not appear anything was taken. Damage is estimated at around $200.

July 13

Arrest (DWI), 2:30 a.m.
— Police arrested Jose Belliard-Zarzuela, 50, of the 700 block of Galleria Drive, Williamstown, after he was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Route 38. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing, police said.
