Police Investigating Another Armed Bank Robbery

This time, a masked man walked into Beneficial Bank and threatened employees with a handgun, according to Mount Laurel Police.

A masked man brandishing a handgun robbed Beneficial Bank in Mount Laurel Friday night, according to police.

Mount Laurel Police said the man entered the bank on the 3000 block of Route 38 just before 6:30 p.m. and demanded money. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen on foot heading toward Hartford Road.

The suspect, who was captured on surveillance cameras, is described as a light-skinned black or Hispanic man, medium build, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches.

A Moorestown man was arrested earlier this month for robbing the Susquehanna Bank on Lenola Road. Moorestown Police said Patrick C. Walters, who lived down the road from the bank, handed a teller a note claiming he had put an explosive device in a trash can and demanding cash. The bomb threat turned out to be a hoax.

Walters was arrested two days later and placed in Burlington County Jail.
