Police: Man Arrested After Stealing, Crashing Friend's Car

Nov. 18
Criminal mischief, 12:57 a.m. — A resident of the 200 block of Spruce Avenue had her car keyed and leaves and branches were placed on the vehicle, police said. The sewer pipe cap from the front yard was also unscrewed and thrown in a bush. There are no suspects.
Nov. 19
Arrest (vehicle theft) — Police arrested George Barnes Jr., 56, of Maple Shade, for stealing a 1994 Saturn that belonged to a friend, from the parking lot of Dana Run condos on North Forklanding Road on Nov. 12, according to police. Pennsauken Police contacted the victim after the car was involved in a hit-and-run crash on Nov. 18. Barnes was arrested two days later and turned over to Pemberton Police on an unrelated outstanding warrant, according to a report.
