Police: Man Held Up at Gunpoint for Cell Phone

Also, Mount Laurel Police are looking for a man who used counterfeit cash to buy groceries.

Sept. 14

Shoplifting, 2:57 p.m. — Police arrested Gregory J. Thompson, 32, of Aster Place, and Janine L. Martino, 21, of Long Bow Drive, Sewell, for shoplifting $279 worth of tools from the Home Depot on Nixon Drive, according to a report. Thompson was sent to Burlington County Jail on $3,500 bail and Marino was released pending a court hearing.

Forgery/theft — Police are looking for a man who allegedly used counterfeit cash at the Aldi supermarket on Route 38 at 8:30 p.m. A half hour earlier, police said the same suspect tried to use the counterfeit money at the CVS on Route 38, but was refused by the store clerk. A picture of the suspect is attached. Anyone who can identify him is asked to contact the Mount Laurel Police Department at 856-234-1414, ext. 1526. Sept. 15

Theft — Someone stole several items, of an undetermined value, from an unlocked vehicle on Richland Drive sometime between Sept. 14 and 15, police said.

Sept. 16

Theft, 2 a.m. — A guest of the Super 8 Hotel on Fellowship Road told police her purse and cell phone were stolen by someone she had a verbal altercation with at Miller’s Ale House. The purse was later recovered in a hallway of the hotel, police said.

Arrest (hindering), 3 a.m. — Police arrested Tawhana Inge, 30, of Yale Road, Pemberton, after she allegedly tried to avoid a traffic summons by providing false identifying information to an officer during a motor vehicle stop on Route 38, according to a report. She was charged with hindering her own apprehension and released pending a court hearing.  

Sept. 18

Theft (Ramblewood Village) — Someone stole a Honda CBR motorcycle from a parking area on the 700 block of Country Club Parkway between Sept. 16 and 18, according to police.

Sept. 19

Arrest (obstruction), 7:26 p.m. — Police arrested Ryan P. Truchell, 31, of Cinnaminson, after officers responded to the Red Roof Inn on Fellowship Road for a disturbance, according to a report. Truchell interfered with the investigation and was charged with obstruction. He was released pending a court hearing.

Robbery, 8:36 p.m. — Two men, one of them armed with a handgun, robbed a man in the area of Summerhill Court, police said. Police responded to the area for a report of two suspicious males and when they arrived, found the victim, who told the officers the suspects had robbed him of his cell phone. The suspects were seen fleeing into a wooded area behind Summerhill Court, police said. Both suspects were described as 17-21 years old, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts pulled tight over their heads covering their faces. Anyone with information concerning this crime is asked to contact the Mount Laurel Police Detective Bureau at 856-234-1414, ext. 1526.

Sept. 20

Arrest (DWI), 11:33 p.m. —
Police arrested Michael S. Mariano, 26, of the 100 block of Memorial Lane, Mount Laurel, after he was involved in a single vehicle accident on Memorial Lane, according to a report. Mariano was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated.
