Police Respond to Barricaded Man in Mount Laurel

It's unclear whether the man is armed in hours-long standoff.

Police locked down a section of The Lakes condominium complex off Mount Laurel-Hainesport Road in Mount Laurel Friday morning after reports came in of a man who had barricaded himself in his home.

Authorities did not confirm whether the man was armed. Several loud bangs were heard coming from the direction of the home.

According to the Burlington County Times, no hostages have been reported inside the home.

A neighbor who lives near the man said police had been there for roughly five hours as of 9 a.m.

State and local police were set up around the neighborhood, including a SWAT team. At one point, a SWAT officer was seen jogging across a front lawn carrying two ballistic shields.
