Police: Shoplifters Hit Moorestown Mall

Moorestown Police arrest a pair from Philly who they say conspired to shoplift $870 worth of watches, plus a Sears employee who allegedly stole nearly $250 in merchandise.

May 12

  • Shakema Alford, 19, Park Boulevard, Camden, arrested for shoplifting $246.94 worth of clothing from at the Moorestown Mall, according to police. She was released on a summons.

May 15

  • Darnell Smith, 25, of Plymouth Court, Mount Holly, arrested for shoplifting 16 DVDs worth $298.84 from Kmart on Route 38, police said. He was released on a summons.

  • Samantha Deffler, 20, of Rancocas Avenue, Riverside, arrested for stealing money, gift cards and a pair of earrings—worth a total of $239.94—from while she was employed there, according to police. Deffler was charged with theft and released on a summons.

May 17

  • Katie Johnson, 29, of West Bluebell Lane, Mount Laurel, arrested for shoplifting women’s clothing worth $263 from Boscov’s at the Moorestown Mall, police said. She was released on a summons.
  • James Johnson, 53, of North Bouvier Street, Philadelphia, and Joseph Miller, 33, North Marvine Street, Philadelphia, both arrested for shoplifting from Macy’s at the Moorestown Mall. Police said Johnson reached over a jewelry counter and swiped four Michael Kors watches, worth $870, and put them into a bad held by Miller. Both men were released on summonses.
