Police: Woman Robbed at Gunpoint in Parking Lot

Also, police quickly track down a would-be burglar thanks to an observant victim.

May 31

Armed robbery, 5:30 p.m. — A woman sitting in the parking lot at Ryan’s Run was robbed at gunpoint when a man approached her car from the wooded area bordering Route 73 South, pointed a small black handgun at her and demanded money, police said. The victim forked over more than $200 cash and the suspect fled into the woods. He is described as a white man, between 17 and 21 years old, thin, with short brown hair, a “scruffy” face, wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

Criminal mischief, 7:49 p.m. — Police said someone threw lawn chairs, rocks and bricks into a swimming pool on the 100 block of East Roland Avenue.

June 2

Arrest (possession of marijuana), 7:30 p.m. — Police arrested Jigar P. Parekh, 21, of Cropwell Drive, Maple Shade, after investigating a report of marijuana smoke coming from an apartment on the 100 block of Cropwell Drive, according to a report. Parekh was charged with possession of marijuana, distribution of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia and placed in Burlington County Jail on $10,000 bail.

June 4

Arrest (attempted burglary), 4:31 p.m. — Police arrested Ronald G. Straile Jr., 34, of Buttonwood Court Apartments, Maple Shade, for trying to rob another apartment in his complex, according to a report. A resident of Buttonwood Court was awoken to the sound of someone trying to pry open his screen and window, police said. The victim yelled at the intruder, then looked out his window and saw the suspect jump off the roof of car he had been standing on to gain access and drive off. The victim recorded the license plate number, which led police to Straile’s door within hours. Straile was charged with criminal attempt at burglary and placed in Burlington County Jail on $5,000 bail. assisted in the investigation.
