Sicklerville Pair Charged in Moorestown Car Burglaries

Moorestown Police are looking into whether similar crimes are connected to the Sicklerville pair.

Police are investigating whether two suspected car burglars arrested Saturday are responsible for a string of similar crimes in Moorestown and Cinnaminson.

Sadao Scafe, 22, of the unit block of Berkshire Road in Sicklerville, and Joshua Rhett, 22, of the unit block of Hampshire Road in Sicklerville, both face charges of receiving stolen property after Saturday’s incident.

responded to the 500 block of Middlesex Drive at 5:33 a.m. for reports of a vehicle burglary in progress. The victim provided police with a description of the suspects’ vehicle, which officers stopped, according to reports.

Several other car burglaries have occurred in the area around the same time, and police are investigating whether Scafe and Rhett are behind those crimes as well.

Both Scafe and Rhett also had active warrants from other jurisdictions. They were remanded to Burlington County Jail in default of $2,500 bail.

Police advised residents to remove valuables from their cars or lock valuables in the trunk, and always lock car doors.
