A 19-year-old is in jail for robbing and assaulting a group of juveniles at gunpoint at a Mount Laurel hotel early New Year’s Day morning, according to police.

Mount Laurel Police said several juveniles from Willingboro and Sewell were occupying the room of a hotel on the 500 block of Diemer Drive when, around 2:30 a.m., 19-year-old Michael D. Haskin, of the unit block of Harwick Lane, Willingboro, entered—along with several male accomplices—brandished a handgun, and demanded the occupants turn over all their belongings.

During the robbery, Haskin reportedly struck two juvenile male victims in the face with his gun, police said.

Haskin was arrested and charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault. He was lodged at Burlington County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are anticipated against additional suspects, police said.
