Three Members of GA Family Killed in Crash, Teen Daughter Survives

State police say the accident is still under investigation.

Three members of a Georgia family were killed Thursday morning in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike involving two tractor-trailers.

State police identified the victims as Ainsworth Mallett, 51; Jacqueline Mallett, 49; and Drew Mallett, 12, all of Stone Mountain, GA, a small town about 20 miles outside Atlanta. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Malletts' daughter, 18-year-old Nicole, survived the crash, police said. She was taken to Cooper University Hospital for her injuries.

The family's dog was also killed in the crash.

Police said the cause of the accident is still under investigation. The crash happened around 10 a.m. Thursday, a few miles north of the Route 73 interchange in Mount Laurel. The Malletts' Toyota Camry, a Ford Edge and two tractor-trailers were involved in the collision.

The turnpike was closed for several hours Thursday while state police conducted their investigation.
