Turkey Hunter Killed While Crossing Route 70 in Lumberton

The unidentified victim is the 12th motor vehicle related fatality in Burlington County this year.

A man New Jersey State Police believe to be a turkey hunter was killed while crossing Route 70 early Monday morning, the Burlington County Times reports.

An unidentified man was initially hit by a Mercedes while crossing Route 70 at 5 a.m., according to the report. He was then hit by a truck when the truck driver didn't see him in the road.

Route 70 was closed for several hours while troopers investigated the scene. His death was the 12th motor vehicle related fatality in Burlington County this year, according to the report.
