Unidentified Body Found in the Delaware River

The man may be a missing Burlington County resident, who jumped from a bridge on March 6.

An unidentified body of a man was discovered on the Delaware River shoreline in Logan Township this weekend, the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office announced on Sunday.

An ATV rider discovered the body around 5 p.m. Saturday evening. Logan Township Police, the Major Crimes and Crime Scene units of the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office and he Missing Persons and Marine Patrol units of the New Jersey State Police responded to the scene.

The Delaware River Port Authority Police was contacted about two men who recently jumped from the Delaware River Port Authority bridges.

One was recovered last week and identified Saturday. The other, a Burlington County resident who was reported to have jumped from a bridge on March 6, remains missing.

The body discovered on Saturday had no identifying marks. An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday, and dental records on the missing Burlington County man are expected to be obtained early this week for forensic comparison.
