Freeholder Reinhart to Seek Re-election

Democrats announce candidates for June primary.

Burlington County Democratic Committee Chairman Joe Andl announced Freeholder Mary Anne Reinhart would seek re-election. She will be running with Machell Still-Pettis. Current Freeholder Chris Brown will not be seeking re-election.

Sander Friedman will be running for surrogate.

Reinhart, who is from Shamong, was elected in 2008. Prior to that she served as a Shamong Township committeewoman for 14 years. As Freeholder, she served as the Director of Health and Human Services, Board of Social Services, Buttonwood Hospital, Advisory Council on Women, HazMat and the Medical Examiner, currently serves as the Director of Buttonwood Hospital and Medical Services, Board of Elections and is a member of the County’s Community Emergency Response Team. Reinhart is also a licensed private detective and real estate agent.

“I am proud of the work that has been done standing up to provide a voice for those that are often not spoken for and look forward to continuing the fight to make Burlington County more accountable, affordable and accessible.” said Reinhart. “Our team recognizes the need to be responsible stewards for the taxpayers, county employees and explore cost savings while still delivering quality services for the residents.

Still-Pettis, of Westampton, serves as the Program Director of Extended Hand Ministries in Mount Holly and the Founder/Commissioner of the RV Chiefs Youth Football and Cheerleading Program of Westampton. She has experience in law enforcement, business management and non-profit organizations. “Our team recognizes the need to be responsible stewards for the taxpayers and explore cost savings while still delivering quality services for the residents,” said Still-Pettis. “We need to push for greater transparency, to shine a light and expose how the Republicans are operating government in Burlington County.”

Friedman, of Medford, is an accomplished general practitioner who has worked in and around Burlington County since 1994. He was recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal as one of the Lawyers of the Year for 2010.

Moorestown voters will cast ballots for District 7 candidates this June as the New Jersey Legislative Districts were redrawn.

Gail Cook, from Beverly, will be running for state senate against Republican incumbent Diane Allen.

Incumbent Herb Conaway, of Delanco, will run for re-election to the Assembly. Jack Conners, a current 7th District Assemblyman, is now in another district and will not seek re-election. Troy Singleton of Palmyra will run with Conaway.

In addition, Democrats Ken Gordon of Willingboro and Yvette Sterling of Westampton will be running in the June primary.

The primary will be held June 7. Voter registration to be able to vote in the primary is May 17.
