Freeholders Endorse Republican Council Candidates

All five of the Burlington County freeholders gave the nod to the Moorestown GOP candidates.

The Republican candidates for township council picked up a major endorsement this week, with all five Burlington County freeholders throwing their support behind the ticket.

“As freeholders, we have proudly served as advocates of the county property taxpayer and voices for our county's citizens,” the freeholders said in a joint statement. “We have cut county property taxes, reduced county spending and provided grants to local towns to build and expand local parks and recreation areas throughout the county. We believe Phil (Garwood), Victoria (Napolitano) and Pete (Palko) will bring that same fiscally responsible approach to Moorestown."

Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio said he was “proud” to be running on the same ticket with the GOP council candidates.

“(Freeholder) Mary Ann O’Brien and I have proudly stood up to special interests, reduced government spending, and made our county more affordable for hard-working families,” he said. “We feel that these three candidates will work hand-in-hand with us on these efforts at a local level.”

, said, “I am excited to be voting for Phil, Victoria and Pete … All three are active members of our community and will be the perfect representatives for families like mine. As a mother of two, I know how important this election is for the future of our town, and will proudly be casting my ballot for a team that will fight to keep our fiscal house in order."

Reacting to the endorsement, Garwood said he and his fellow candidates were “humbled and grateful.”

“We gladly stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our freeholder board in their fight to defend the taxpayers of Moorestown and Burlington County,” Napolitano added. “The voters of Moorestown have our promise that as councilmembers, we will work hard every day with our county officials to solve problems and keep our town a place that we can all be proud to call home.”
