The board also asked for an "appropriate annual budget to maintain, preserve and protect the Library Facility." The library's current budget is $1.5 million.

The library owns more than 140,000 items, including books, other publications, videos and computers. The library services an average of 513 patrons per day, according to Walton and 7.8 items per resident per year.

Town council is tentatively scheduled to review Municipal Complex plans, which would include the library, at its April 11 meeting. According to the preliminary Moorestown 2011 Capital Budget, the estimated total cost of the Municipal Complex Renovation Project is $20,000,000.
