Liquor Petitions Certified By Township Clerk

Town Council will consider two resolutions Monday night directing the county clerk to put the questions on the ballot.

Township Clerk Patricia Hunt certified two petitions intended to get a referendum before voters regarding the sale of alcohol in .

The petitions were in late July, but Hunt had to verify each had the required number of signatures before they could be certified and considered by Town Council.

According to Hunt, both petitions—one asking voters to approve in town and the other to restrict those sales to restaurants at the Moorestown Mall—exceeded the necessary number of signatures.

Council meets Monday night. Two separate resolutions will be placed on the agenda asking council to direct the county clerk to place the questions on the ballot.
