Municipal Budget Set for Introduction Monday Night

The proposed budget was $23,387,234, with $15,941,729 to be raised through taxation. No tax rate increase was proposed.

The 2014 municipal budget is set to be introduced Monday night when Moorestown Council convenes at the high school, 7:30 p.m.

The proposed budget was $23,387,234, with $15,941,729 to be raised through taxation. No tax rate increase was proposed.

Following introduction, the public hearing for the budget is set for June 9 in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 111 West Second Street.

Council will also consider a resolution that would establish a tax levy for the Moorestown Open Space, Recreation and Farmland and Historic Preservation Trust Fund Program.

There are also 14 items on the council’s consent agenda, including a proposal to enter into a joint purchasing agreement for the collection and disposal of trash from apartment and condominium complexes, as well as a separate contract to cover solid waste collection and bulk collection.

Council will also vote on a resolution authorizing reconstruction on Magnolia Court and Spruce Avenue in the amount of $319,835.

There are no ordinances up for second reading.
