Nicky Scarfo Racketeering Trial Continues Tuesday Morning

Scarfo was among 13 charged with racketeering in 2011. Since then, five, including his wife, have already pleaded guilty.

The trial of mobster Nicodemo Scarfo Jr. continues in Camden federal court Tuesday morning after a one-day hiatus in the trial due to snow.

Scarfo, of Galloway Township, an alleged member of the Lucchese organized crime family, and Salvatore Pelullo, an alleged associate of the crime family, are charged with racketeering and related offenses stemming from the alleged extortionate takeover of FirstPlus Financial Group Inc.

At the time of the initial arrest in 2011, Scarfo and Pelullo were among 13 charged in the takeover and subsequent looting of FPFG by members of the racketeering enterprise through a series of fraudulent consulting agreements and acquisitions involving companies they controlled.
